Getting here by car
The B1029 is the road serving Brightlingsea and is easily accessible from the A12/A120.
From the south either exit at J.27 and come through Colchester or J.27 to come in via the A120.
From the north, exit the A12 at J.29 on to the A120.
Once you are on the A120 come off at the A133 for Clacton & Weeley, then follow the signs to Brightlingsea.

Parking: there are car parks in the Town Centre, near the Harbour and also on the Western Promenade (here, here and here).
Getting here by train
If you are travelling on the national rail network, you can either get off at Colchester (Main Line) Station with fast links to London and East Anglia or to get a little closer to Brightlingsea change at Colchester and alight at either Wivenhoe or Alresford.
If getting off at Colchester you can then take a mini-cab to Brightlingsea (approx. 20 minutes and £18-£30 depending on the time of day/night) or a 87 bus from the station (a few pounds and just under an hour).
A bus journey is much shorter from Wivenhoe or Alresford (15 mins or so) and we recommend breaking up your journey with a browse around Wivenhoe before getting on the bus outside the Co-Op there.
Getting here by water
Being a working harbour Brightlingsea is very accessible by the water.

Getting here by plane
Brightlingsea is around an hour’s drive from Stansted, and therefore benefits from fantastic access to domestic flights giving people from all over the country & Europe easy access to us.
